So I finally decided to type something in my journal. For some reason I've just been very energetic for the past two days. Heh, I think it may have something to do with my new camera. Everything just seems to be going right lately, literally everything. School, grades, income, family, friends, productivity, etc. Stuff I've bee procrastinating for years about has been getting done lately in a non-stressful fashion. It's a great feeling.

Since this is a deviant journal, I'm sorta unsure if I should type about stuff relating to art and photography, or just random thoughts. I guess I'll use this for both. Lol, but I'll try not to over do it on the text.

[Lenses] On Friday I went to a shop in NY that sells camera lenses, and I ended up buying a portrait lens. I'll re-edit this when I get the exact type of lens I bought that day. I tested out a few of the lenses they sold on my cam and took a few test shows with each one. I've come to the conclusion that the kit lens is not good quality compared to the others although I've been satisfied with the results I've been getting. On to the macro lens; I tried out the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM Lens and was amazed by the results. It captures very tiny things, very clearly.

Problem is, the damn lens is just under $450. Way too much to be spending on a macro lens right now, in the winter, when most of the bugs are in hiding and flowers are hard to find.

[Movies] Hm, moving on, I saw Step Up 2 today. I was going to completely avoid the movie but decided to give it a chance. I absolutely loved it! The opening dance and the last dance scene was FREAKING EPIC. And the lead actress is gorgeous! My god, I'm definitely going to take some salsa lessons after watching this.

[Family] Today was a great night. For the first time in a little while the family ate dinner together... there was lots of laughing, photo taking, and fooood! My sister brought some wine back from Europe, I drank some way too fast and became slightly tipsy. My sister is heading back to Harvard tomorrow morning, so I also have to be up early.

[Friends] Meeting new people at my school all the time, but lately new friends don't seem as important to me as before. Now I'd rather just make some good acquaintances and focus on my school work. If those acquaintances turn into friendships, that's cool.
